Projection 2010

45 new for computer labs: (High Priority)

To continue to offer the best computer science education to our students requires the acquisition of up to date computers. The ones we have now are antiquated systems and given that we are a computer vocational school we want to offer the best in preparation of our students.

Finish classrooms, third floor, over offices (High Priority)

It still needs doors, windows and flooring to maintain the highest standard of educational ambiance. There are many practical solutions accomplished by the creation of a good atmosphere; something that I am trying to improve overall.

New School Book Store (High Priority)

The present building made of wood has served it’s purpose but is now deteriorating rapidly. It needs to be replaced to continue to serve the student body of Escalón. With its new design it will accommodate necessary changes in student body flow; making more efficient use of time and space to better serve the students.

The new stove for the Kitchen (High Priority)

We have struggled with several types of stoves to cook the 3200 tortillas a day quota. We realize that we are in need of industrial style stoves that can handle the heat and stress of those kinds of quantities of cooking.

Maintenance on Vehicles (High Priority)

Keeping our fleet of vehicles running in maximum efficiency helps us to complete our mission to those in the mountains more affectively. Good maintenance is more cost effective and is good stewardship.

Add more boys dorms to the “M” building (High Priority)

To affectively accommodate the quantities of male students in Escalón this is an imperative project. We need more dormitories for the boys. Something on a “right now” status while we plan and decide what to do across the road.

Water Well and Tank

The water usage in Escalón has gone from 5000 gallons a day to 20,000 gallons a day. The present well is pumping sand, this started after an earthquake in 2007. Our present tank can only hold enough water for about 4 to 5 hours. With a new well and tank, we will us the old one for a back up and required irrigation.

Finish pouring floor in basement of bathrooms building (High Priority)

Presently the floor is still dirt, thus leaving the basement very damp and unusable for storage of any material, and we are in great need of more storage. This is something we were not able to discuss on your last visit.

Need a New Bus (High Priority)

(In progress, waiting for transport)

Projector, computer, HD video camera for church and presentations (High Priority)

Presenting the “Life In Action” missions to the student body is very important to the development of their vision of life and social justice. This equipment also enables us to do presentations etc at the many bonus teaching seminars we have each year as an addition to our regularly scheduled classes.

New Toyota 4X4 pick-up this is to add to our mount fleet (Med-high priority)

These trucks are vital to us being able to reach the needy in the mountains, to complete our “Life in Action” campaigns. Influencing the lives of the people in the mountains, on the level we are doing, would be impossible without such vehicles. This past year we have had many occasions to have all of our trucks in mountains at the same time.

New window for the Girls dorms

This is both practical and cosmetic. The girls need privacy and security, both of which are provided by new windows. The present windows provide none of the aforementioned and they are rotting and falling out of the building.

Build welding shop using “Container” (Business venture)

The plan is to utilize the skills we have developed in our welding shop to present the opportunity to the community as a new business for the welding needs of the community. And we will make a profit that will help put money back into Escalón.

Two New motorcycles for Evangelism

Motorcycles are the most cost effective and practical means to send our “Evangelists” to the unknown parts of the mountain wilderness. So that we can find the need, before taking the trucks to meet the need.

300 chairs for the tent, for church and rallies

Chairs have a more viable ability to meet our needs to arrange, organize and create an atmosphere in our on campus church and school assemblies. Presently we are still short the quantity of chairs to seat all our church family and guests properly.

New roof over missionary duplex on campus (not done in 2009)

The roof is a clay tile roof that has served well, however after several storms that have taken a heavy toll on the tiles, breaking many of them, it is well past time to repair the roof. Presently the roof leaks.

Concession store across the road (Business Opportunity)

We have a successful business with the concession store on campus we are now ready to create one off campus and open to the general pubic.

New Sound system/complete

(in progress)

Install water and lights to the chicken coups

This is a business venture also; producing 200 chickens every 15 days. These chickens are being sold to near by business and are supplementing the diet and income for Escalón.

Pastors’ conference in M.C. and medical brigade!!!

NEED DENTIST

Running track around Soccer Field

This is an important step to reach athletic excellence in our educational process. The track will expand the athletic curriculum of the school, increase participation, generate more opportunities to develop activities to increase coordination and thus increase the learning capacity of our students.

Street to new house

This street not only makes access to the house on the property more affective but also is necessary to the continued development of the property. When the rainy seasons come the property will not be accessible without a road.

Bread micro-business, construction of production area

The bread business is ready to launch, but without a production area it will not allow the business to grow and flourish.

Volleyball Court on Activities Campus

This is a continued effort to increase the activities of our student body. Both educationally and just for the pure fun the students receive from playing volleyball.

Add sidewalk from “M” boys dorms to Science building

The need has been obvious to build a sidewalk to establish a safer and neater means to commute from the boy’s dorms to the science building.

Add awning to extend over sidewalks from buildings 1 to 3

This project is an effort to better the ambiance of Escalón. Having gardens with places of peace helps develop a sense of what is peaceful and beautiful in the minds and hearts of the students. This project will also allow our student body to continue activities despite the rain.

Start adding Gym equipment for the work out room

As a means of maintaining the health, both mental and physical of our staff, we want to have a place for them to exercise and enjoy the benefits of working out.

Debt on director House construction

This debt was acquired only as a means to move in and make the house habitable. It was necessary for the director to move in before the New Year started to allow all the other programs to commence also at the beginning of the year.

Dept on the third floor construction

Normally we only build as we have funds to cover cost, however the move to single schedule has pushed us to complete the building before Feb of 2010; therefore generating a minimal debt.
