July 2010 Update

"This year our school closed for summer with twenty-six students receiving prizes for excellent work. The district education office recognized our school as one of the top primary schools in the district!

Liberia's Independence Day was July 26th. To celebrate, our kids each received new footwear, clothing, and a toy. They enjoyed a special meal of chicken, gravy, popcorn, candy, cake and a bottle of coke. Later the kids performed special dances, and ended the day with two films: Veggie Tales and The Life of Jesus.

~

We recently acquired a new orphanage in the city of Marshall which has the only school for young children in the area. Our directors and teachers are anxious to get started on providing quality education and a spiritual foundation for the children. We are thankful for our shipping container from the US filled Liberiawith many needed supplies: beds, mattresses, clothing, school books, bedding, and toys. We also received children's Bibles, and sports equipment for our upcoming Vacation Bible Camp."

Last month Emmanuel and Ramona welcomed newborn triplets, Faith, Hope, and Joy, into their home. Emmanuel walked 11 hours to rescue them!

Thank you for your continued prayers and support for our work in Liberia. Please say an extra prayer 1) for Emmanuel and Ramona as they parent these babies and 2) for Vacation Bible Camp, that it will change lives and, above all, bring glory to God!
