Working to provide hope to the hopeless...
Lifesong - Honduras is working to provide hope to the hopeless, help to the helpless, and healing to the hurting. Tree of Life's mission is to reach out and meet the physical needs of others.
By doing so, Lifesong serves 450 orphaned and vulnerable children in Copan, Honduras at Plan Escalon school. Job skill training is provided to these children, such as: glass etching, growing a private label coffee, creating a bakery, etc. Each student is challenged to open a business in order to learn new skills and potentially generate income that will equip them for making a living.
Chickens have been the latest additions to the blessings of Tree of Life this year. The property across the street from Plan Escalon, was bought a little over two years ago, and for some time was only being used by those students working and learning in small horticultural projects.
These projects were used to grow different vegetables that then helped to add variety and nutrition to the students’ daily diets. Little did we realize, but there was expansion on the horizon. As we have prayed and used our faith for doors of opportunities to further support the ministry, God has found us the doors to open and bring in the blessings. Who would expect anything less from Jehovah Jirah, who is our Provider.
Our most recent and third addition to the same acreage, has been adding a chicken farm. We have been approved for a grant that allows us to start yet another independent business, that will ultimately end up supporting itself and supplying the ministry with meat for the students. Who knows what more God has in store for this one piece of property! Praise God, God is Good, All the Time!!
