Please enjoy this update from Lifesong Honduras/Tree of Life Ministries… For a couple of years Lifesong Honduras/Tree of Life has been qualified for the governmental licensing requirements for an elementary school and an orphanage for younger children.  Last year was the first year that we had the ‘elementary school’, which consisted of a ‘one room school’ concept with six students. Please enjoy this update from Lifesong Honduras/Tree of Life Ministries… As February started, so did a new school year. It is difficult each year to pour through the hundreds of applications, determining who has the greatest needs. How do we choose when the needs are greater than the spots available?  Especially, when we hear tragedy after tragedy faced like Nolvia, the young lady pictured.   Nolvia is from the Mosquito Coast and will be enrolled in our elementary level classes.  She has, unfortunately, witnessed her father brutally murder her mother.  What words express what she must have gone through and still be coping with.  This weighed heavy on the hearts … Continue reading

Thank you in advance for your kind words of support!   Please enjoy this update from Tree of Life/Lifesong Honduras…    “What an inspiration it was for the leaders at Tree of Life as we watched 123 students graduate this past November.  As part of the ceremony the students shared their future aspirations and what they planned on studying in college.  With memories of their acceptance interviews ever fresh in our minds, it was a blessing to hear how far they had come.  For many of them, going to Junior High was quite an accomplishment, let alone finishing High School with a career degree. Please enjoy this update from Tree of Life/Lifesong Honduras… “September marked the final stretch of the school year at Plan Escalon.  As the month started everyone busy with exams and then prepared for their last visit home before the final marking period.  Their final responsibility before leaving was to participate in the Independence Day Parade.     The students and marching band were diligent in practicing their marching skills and songs days before the Parade. The honor students marched together wearing ribbons, a group of young ladies wore the names of each of the countries ‘districts’, and yet another group dressed in the culture’s dance … Continue reading

It’s official! The ‘extreme makeover’ has begun for Tree of Life/Lifesong Honduras’ new Multi-Purpose Building! This new building will be used as the primary assembly space, dining hall as well as gymnasium for our 550 students and staff. Our staff in-country are diligently posting day-by-day updates of the construction progress and we invite you to join in the journey!
