The Impact of Family // Lifesong Ukraine

We invite you to share a word of encouragement to our staff at Lifesong Ukraine. To do so, please comment on the blog or on our Facebook wall and it will be forwarded to our staff. Thank you in advance for your kind words of support! Please enjoy this update from Lifesong Ukraine… During the past 7 years of participating in the CCP (Constant Christian Presence) program at the Zap orphanage, the Zap team has developed strong relationship with the children. There are 260 children in the orphanage and each of them needs personal attention, mentoring, care and love. As the relationships with the kids grow, they become more open to communicate and ask to stay with us on weekend visits. But unfortunately that is not easy to accomplish – so many kids, but few people to keep them. That is why taking children to the church on weekend is a good alternative to spend time with … Continue reading

One Child – One Life – One Soul // March Mission Moment

13-3 MM Email

One Soul.An ongoing theme of our ministry is the power of ONE. Not to ignore the often overwhelming 147 million orphan statistic, but to focus on making an impact on ONE child. As Andy Stanley says, “Do for ONE what you wish you could do for every one. And when do you for ONE, you often end up doing for far more than just one.”  Please enjoy these ONE child stories… IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS // Lifesong Zambia In Zambia, like many parts of the world, witchcraft is very prevalent. At Lifesong School in Zambia, we teach the children that God is more powerful than witchcraft and the witchdoctors that practice it. … Continue reading

God Sets the Lonely in Families… // February Mission Moment

13-2 MM Email

Faith. Family. Home.In caring for orphans, our hope is to instil faith, family and a sense of home deep into the hearts of every child we are blessed to serve. Please enjoy this month’s Mission Moment highlighting the fruit of God’s work through us.  Baptized in the Name of the ONE True God… In a country where the worship of many gods is commonplace, lives of children are being changed and transformed by the working of Jesus Christ, the ONE true God. Lifesong India provides homes for almost 600 children who are all being exposed to the gospel of our loving, merciful and kind Father God. Baptism has always been a powerful symbol of Christianity. This symbol is especially notable in this culture because through this outward testimony of faith, children are publicly turning away from false gods to rely only on Jesus! Witness the baptism of the girls from … Continue reading

Adoption Without Borders // Indigenous Adoption

adf

If you are picking up your jaw after watching that video, join the crowd! Can you believe that a domestic adoption for a Christian Ukrainian family costs only $500? Incredible! How can we, as American Christians, help our brothers & sisters in Ukraine “empty the orphanages”?  Over the past few years, Lifesong has developed an indigenous adoption program in Ukraine called Adoption Without Borders (AwoB). Adoption Without Borders is an intentional program linking like-minded families and churches in the USA with Christian families in Ukraine who are seeking to adopt.  The system is already in place and working well. Over the past 4 years, the Lifesong Ukraine team has assisted over 35 couples in adopting (or life-long fostering) over 125 orphans!  We recently hired in-country AwoB Coordinators that will help provide pre- and post-adoption training and support.  Igor and Yana, our new coordinators, are in the process of adopting a son and we are so thankful to … Continue reading

Thank you in advance for your kind words of support! Please enjoy this update from Lifesong Ukraine, “I planted the seed…but it was God who made it grow.” 1 Corinthians 3:6 It was only a few years ago when Andrei and Sergei, two young men from Ukraine, graduated from the state orphanage they had been living in most of their lives. During their time at the orphanage, the Constant Christian Presence Program offered by Lifesong Ukraine staff impacted their hearts and they each decided to follow Jesus Christ.  Most aged-out orphans move into state dorms, known for encouraging poverty and crime. Sergei and Andrei chose a different p Denis, Lifesong Ukraine Director, Andrei, and … Continue reading
