Be a Life Changer for Lyness!

lyness

Do you remember Lyness from the FFH One Silent Night concert tour? She is another student who would benefit from living in one of the Student Life Homes. Before Lyness became a student at Lifesong, she suffered some extreme hardships, including the death of her mother. After her mother’s death, her grandma came to live with her and that is when she started attending the Lifesong School. She is so thankful for the friends that she has made, the food & medical care she is provided and the education she is receiving. (WATCH: Lyness’ Story) Our hope is to build Student Life Homes to provide Christian mentorship, daily devotions, community outreach, life-skills training, & nutritious meals. We and students like Lyness need your help. Will you help us build ONE home? Will you be a LIFE CHANGER? Our goal: Raise $37,500 to build one Student Life Home that will give 10 students a place to … Continue reading

Be a Life Changer for Ezron!

Ezron

Ezron was one of Lifesong Zambia School’s first students. At 12 years old, he didn’t want a better life for just himself, but also his and sister. The principal at the time (about 3 years ago) tells how Ezron continually approached him about getting his sister registered for school. The principal did what he could, but in the end, told Ezron that his parents would need to be present for her full enrollment. Ezron continued to advocate for his sister until finally his mother came and did the necessary paperwork. As you saw in the video, he continues to have a soft heart towards others with actions to back it up. But as you heard, his family is in a tough and crowded spot. Ezron is one of the many students who would really benefit from living in the Student Life Homes. Would you consider investing in him, just like … Continue reading

Impact of Quality Teachers // Lifesong Zambia

Please enjoy this update from Lifesong Zambia… This past week, we joined the rest of the world in celebrating Teacher’s Day. This year’s theme was, THE CALL TO TEACHERS. It is focused around raising awareness for the need to have both quality teachers now and in the future. In Zambia, there can not be a better theme. Only 1% of the students who start Grade 1, will graduate Grade 12 AND secure a full-time job. Yes, only 1%. WOW! So, if you want your students to be in the 1%, you must be looking for those teachers who truly see their occupation as a Calling. At Lifesong, our Grade 7 students just got the results of their MOCK Grade 7 exams (remember, there are THREE big test here; Grade 7, 9, and 12 – if you don’t pass, you don’t move on). 100% of our students passed the MOCK … Continue reading

Enjoy these updates from Lifesong Farms in Zambia and Ukraine… “OUR LIVES HAVE BEEN CHANGED…” // Zambia Because of the faithful work of our 16 farm ladies, we have been able to grow and sell berries to local grocery stores. Students Give Tour of Christ’s Life // Lifesong Zambia

We invite you to share a word of encouragement to our staff at Lifesong Zambia. To do so, please comment on the blog or on our Facebook wall and it will be forwarded to our staff. Thank you in advance for your kind words of support! Please enjoy this update from Shane McBride, Lifesong Zambia Director… We had a wonderful Easter drama organized by Leslie and carried out by each class. As the parents walked through 8 staged dramas, they got to watch their children depict the Easter story.  With pride and enthusiasm the students performed flawlessly.  The parents, brothers, sisters, aunties and uncles all saw the pain of Christ’s death and the power of His resurrection. Stage by stage, they experienced the Easter weekend, starting with the baby class singing an Easter song, to the Grade 8 class singing about the resurrection.  Our 292 students really did a great job.  The drama ended with … Continue reading
