One Child – One Life – One Soul // March Mission Moment

13-3 MM Email

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’” Matthew 25:40 One Child. One Life. One Soul.An ongoing theme of our ministry is the power of ONE. Not to ignore the often overwhelming 147 million orphan statistic, but to focus on making an impact on ONE child. As Andy Stanley says, “Do for ONE what you wish you could do for every one. And when do you for ONE, you often end up doing for far more than just one.”  Please enjoy these ONE child stories… IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS // Lifesong Zambia In Zambia, like many parts of the world, witchcraft is very prevalent. At Lifesong School in Zambia, we teach the children that God is more powerful than witchcraft and the witchdoctors that practice it. … Continue reading

Lifesong Ukraine Receives Praise from Government Officials

Please enjoy this exciting update from Lifesong Ukraine Director Denis Poshelok explaining their recent meeting with the Government Alliance for Orphans… Last Wednesday, we held our first conference together with Ukraine Without Orphan Alliance for Kharkov State of Ukraine. We had about 220 participants, mostly State officials on orphan care, social workers, orphanage directors, different religious leaders, NGO representatives, etc. We had 10 people from Lifesong (staff/grads, ministers). Governor’s assistant on social services/orphan care spoke highly about the great role of Lifesong Ukraine plays in coping with orphan crisis in our area. Very encouraging! Testimonies of our graduates – Natasha, Andrei, Ruslana, Dima, Vitalik were very strong and were very impressive to the audience. Also, story of my dad being an orphan, and the fact that Tanya and I are also adoptive parents was received very well. Finally, our camp property with elements of horse therapy was a big hit which nailed down strong intentions of our organization. … Continue reading

Praying for Orphans – Day 1

Nellay Larkpor

In honor of the upcoming Orphan Sunday (November 4th), we are hosting a Prayer Campaign to prepare our hearts and minds for the day set aside to honor the orphaned, knowing that PRAYER is the best place to start! Sometimes it’s hard to put into words the plight of the orphan today. When we hear numbers like 153million as the amount of orphans there are worldwide, it goes way beyond our understanding.  Or what about the number of orphans just in our country alone?  Over 107,000 children are waiting to be adopted from the US foster care system.* Again, we struggle to really comprehend what that looks like. Sometimes we become numb to the numbers as facts and stats go in one ear and out the other. Why don’t those numbers make us jump into action?  What do those numbers really mean? They mean that ONE little girl in Guatamala has … Continue reading

Family Friday: “We know God called us to adopt…”

Steven and Tiffany could list 78 reasons why they decided to grow their family through adoption.  For several years, they traveled as road directors for an international children’s choir.  They felt God working on their hearts as they were “Mom” and “Dad” to the children in the choir, many of which were orphans from India, Uganda, Brazil, Philippines, Nepal, and Myanmar. The Lord used these children to cultivate in them a heart for the orphan.  As most adoption stories go, Steven and Tiffany’s journey had some unexpected turns and surprises. But through it all, they felt God’s presence and peace as they persued the adoption of their daughter Ayla from China. Thanks to The Church of Brook Hills Adoption Fund, Steven and Tiffany were given a matching grant through Lifesong to help with some of the fiancial costs. Listen in to hear more… Lifesong provided a way for people to give tax-deductible gifts … Continue reading

Celebrating Through Service — Lifesong Zambia

We invite you to share a word of encouragement to our staff at Lifesong Zambia. To do so, please reply to this email or leave a comment on our Facebook wall and it will be forwarded to our staff. Thank you in advance for your kind words of support!  We are blessed to share this update from Lifesong Zambia from missionary Shane McBride, “Often times Independence Day is celebrated with fireworks, picnics, and apple pies. Well, here in Zambia on October 24th, we are using the holiday as a time of reflection. We are blessed beyond measure and our students know this.   So, how will we celebrate? Through service. Our students will be going into their community and serving the elderly and widows. It will be a week long activity of shoveling, mending roofs, cutting grass (not with a mower, but by hand with a slasher), fetching water from the wells, … Continue reading
