I was only 15 when I first came to America (in 2003) and met the family I would be staying with. They had 4 children of their own, and they really didn't plan to adopt me. They were only supposed to keep me until somebody wanted to adopt me, but after a month of doing things together and having so much fun, we got very attached to each other. They asked me if I liked it here and, of course, I said yes. One of the days I even told the family that I loved them, and that is when they decided to start adoption papers.
When the time came for me to go back to my country of Kazakhstan, my future parents had a very hard time to letting me go.
In 2004, I finally saw my parents for the first time since the summer of 2003. I was very shocked because nobody told me that they were coming.
I have now been here a little bit more than 3 years. All this time I have never been happier than I am now. I have a wonderful family that loves me just the same way they love their own kids.
My parents couldn’t have done this with out God’s help. He was there for my parents when they had hard times. He gave them hope that I would be home soon and gave them strength to stay strong and believe that at the end, we would be together as a family. Since my adoption I look at God in a different way. He did this miracle. I look very much like my mother.
I am currently in the process of learning about being baptized. I did learn lots of things about God and that He is there for you…you just have to let Him in your life.
Lifesong helped my family by giving money for my adoption, which is great, and I want to say thank you for the help.
