The Mihnovich Family
“At last our amazing children are with us! When we pulled through the gate at their orphanage, a nanny came running out and hugged me as soon as I got out of the van. She was saying, “You came, you came, you did come!” Our children came running followed by all the other kids at the orphanage. We hugged and kissed each other. They called us ‘Mama’ and ‘Daddy’. It is so very clear that God has been preparing their little hearts to be our children!”
It was 13 months ago that James and Tracy Mihnovich accepted the referral for these 4 precious children knowing that God called them and that He would provide the way! When they adopted their son Levi 2 ½ years ago, they knew that with all the orphans in the world there was no way that they could not adopt again.
“Shortly after our dossier arrived in Ethiopia, we received news that there was a problem with the release of our kids and that we should think about choosing other children. We heard God telling us to pray for them and for the salvation of their oppressor. An army of prayer warriors from around the world began praying earnestly for their release and for the scales to fall from the eyes of the one who was keeping them in bondage. First and foremost was trusting our amazing God to provide the needed funds to bring them home. And HE has....step by step....in some large, but mostly small pieces, God has supplied according to His riches in Christ Jesus. He has used our Both Hands Project, a Lifesong grant through our church, Grace Chapel, a Retail Orphan Intitiative grant, offerings of gold and sacrifices by so many who we don’t even know… showing us that His glorious riches come from His beautiful working Body and all of its parts!
When we began, we actually thought that the hardest part of the journey would be raising the enormous amount of money we needed to get them home…we could not have been more wrong. Little did we know that God would take us on a ride that would show us His power in a way we’d never seen!
In God’s perfect timing our children are HOME! We are eternally grateful to Lifesong and the role they played in our adoption and the work they do for all of His orphans around the world! We will never be the same!”
