January 2010 Update
"The feeding program initiated by Peggy at our school is so successful and so well-received, we continue to hear around town and from the teachers and parents what a blessing it is. It gives two nutritious meals each school day to the nearly 300 students, which are the best meals they receive. Buoyed by that success, Peggy has a desire to start a similar school feeding program for the little Nursery School we adopted out at Adami Tulu, where there are 55 students. Construction of the kitchen, pantry, and feeding area is underway."
"Lifesong for Orphans of Gridley, IL, is building a grade school for grades 1 - 8 on an attractive property we recently received from the government in the heart of town. The people of Ziway are eagerly anticipating this school, and that anticipation is heightened now that excavation for the perimeter wall has begun."
"We recently re-opened the Adami Tulu nursery school, in order to keep it from being taken away by the government. Obviously, it needs a lot of work, but due to some individual donations we were able to keep it from being given to the Muslims.
Lifesong has secured a piece of land that is big enough for two Orphan Homes to be built on. A home for boys and another for girls, each holding 12 orphans is the plan. The town officials of Adami Tulu have given the land where the present nursery school is located. Adami Tulu is a town located about five miles south of Ziway. I noticed the children there show signs of extreme poverty. The land is ready to go; we just need the funds to start this blessing!"
