Enjoy this update from our Cambodia team–
We praise God for the provision of a new truck for the project in Bangpli, Thailand! The truck was sold for only 55,000 baht (around $1500) by a Christian Thai man who felt led to help the church.
We rejoice over the baptism of 7 children in Phnom Penh, Cambodia! Having been discipled in the church for many months now, Pastor Somnang waited to baptize the children until they were all sure of their decision to follow Christ and were able to show evidence of growth in the knowledge of the Lord. The vision of these children becoming leaders of their generation is coming to fruition as they are not only each growing individually and inside their familiar community in the church but are also each actively engaged in the ministry with Pastor Somnang in reaching out to the many children living in the slum community near the church.
Many children from the local community continue to gather at the church in Phnom Penh to receive food, fellowship and discipleship. The ministry among the local slum community near the church continues to grow!
We are thrilled to welcome a new pastor onto our team, Pastor Sovanmuny of Takeo Province in Cambodia. He has been a long time listener to Pastor Somnang’s teaching on a weekly radio program and asked him to come and visit his home town and discuss vision for ministry there. Takeo Province is where both Li Hou and Mary were born. Two years ago we asked for prayer about how we could best reach this area with the Gospel and help the many children in need. Praise God, we are now partnered with Pastor Sovanmuny who is seeking to replicate the ministry in Phnom Penh through providing support, education and discipleship to children and helping train widows and others in the community to join in the ministry.
This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it
