Putting Bibles in their Hands & Hearts // Lifesong Liberia

Please enjoy this update from Lifesong Liberia…  Lifesong Liberia, over the independence holiday, presented each of the kids at the Rehab home with a brand new children’s or youth Bible.  Up to now, the home had just one Bible which was generally used for Bible studies and daily devotions. The kids love them because they are easy to read and each page has picture or drawing of the Bible stories. “These bibles are gifts and the donors want each of you to know how much they love you, but most of all, how much God loves each of you,” said Emmanuel Jones as he distributed the Bibles to each of the kids. The kids at Rehab are currently attending VBS, with each one of them glued to their new Bible.  The children at Marshall will be receiving their Bibles this fall. We are so thankful that they understand and value their Bibles and ask you to pray … Continue reading

Please enjoy this update from Emmanuel Jones, Lifesong Liberia Director… Lifesong Liberia is presently involved in the lives of hundreds of children by providing a quality Christian education at the Lifesong Christian Academy in Marshall and The Rev. Joseph Holland Christian Academy in the Rehab community. Through our schools, many life-changing encounters are happening in the lives of children who otherwise may have never had a chance to get an education in their whole lives. In Marshall, a community with over 6,000 inhabitants, there was no school. Children and youth had no opportunity to sit in a classroom until two years ago, when Lifesong constructed an eight room school building and recruited dedicated Christian teachers … Continue reading

FIGHT THE BITE! Urgent Need for Mosquito Screens in India

“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.” — Dalai Lama XIV When the evening comes and the sun disappears on the horizon, the 597 children and young adults at our Lifesong India homes go through their nightly routine. Similar to kids here in the states, they brush teeth, say their prayers and lie down to sleep. The doors are shut and the lights turned off leaving only the quiet steps of the house workers and the sounds of the street coming from the window left open to allow any breeze the night air will offer. Whether the windows are open or closed, mosquitos seem to find their way into the rooms, leaving our students with those uncomfortable-itchy bites and the fear of insect-borne diseases when they wake up the next morning. (Something kids in the states will rarely, if ever, experience!) What … Continue reading

One Child – One Life – One Soul // March Mission Moment

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’” Matthew 25:40 One Child. One Life. One Soul.An ongoing theme of our ministry is the power of ONE. Not to ignore the often overwhelming 147 million orphan statistic, but to focus on making an impact on ONE child. As Andy Stanley says, “Do for ONE what you wish you could do for every one. And when do you for ONE, you often end up doing for far more than just one.”  Please enjoy these ONE child stories… IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS // Lifesong Zambia In Zambia, like many parts of the world, witchcraft is very prevalent. At Lifesong School in Zambia, we teach the children that God is more powerful than witchcraft and the witchdoctors that practice it. … Continue reading

God Sets the Lonely in Families… // February Mission Moment

Faith. Family. Home.In caring for orphans, our hope is to instil faith, family and a sense of home deep into the hearts of every child we are blessed to serve. Please enjoy this month’s Mission Moment highlighting the fruit of God’s work through us.  Baptized in the Name of the ONE True God… In a country where the worship of many gods is commonplace, lives of children are being changed and transformed by the working of Jesus Christ, the ONE true God. Lifesong India provides homes for almost 600 children who are all being exposed to the gospel of our loving, merciful and kind Father God. Baptism has always been a powerful symbol of Christianity. This symbol is especially notable in this culture because through this outward testimony of faith, children are publicly turning away from false gods to rely only on Jesus! Witness the baptism of the girls from … Continue reading

Thank you in advance for your kind words of support! Please enjoy this update from Emmanuel Jones, Lifesong Liberia Director… The Home of Champions at Marshall is undertaking a garden project for the second year.  Children from the 4th-6th grades are presently planting water greens, sweet potato greens and sweet corn.  The greens will be used in the children’s meals.  This project is also intended to teach the children farming and gardening skills.  We learned a great deal last year, and hope to have better success this time. At the Rehab home, spiritual development has been our emphasis for the past month.  Our aim is to help children develop a personal relationship with the Lord and to keep that relationship growing.  … Continue reading
