Your Sponsorship Matters. 50 kids by May 31st!

Your sponsorship matters. Without advocates like you, Mesaye would not be able to go to school. Mesaye came to live with her grandmother, Yenenesh, when her mother died six months after she was born. Yenenesh knows that it is because of sponsors, her granddaughter is able to attend school at the Lifesong school in Ziway, Ethiopia. We are asking you to sponsor one of 50 children by May 31st! For only $19/month your sponsorship provides quality education, 2 nutritious meals each school day and Christian discipleship for one child in Ethiopia. 100% of the donation received by Lifesong goes to the sponsorship of your child. Sponsorship: What Does it Mean to the Waggoner Family?

We’re excited to have guest blogger & Ethiopia Advocate, Terry Waggoner, share why he and his family participate in the Lifesong Ethiopia Child Sponsorship Program. Enjoy… Sponsorship: What does it mean to the Waggoner Family? It’s priceless!  Our sponsorship journey started with our youngest daughter picking out the first two kids that we decided to sponsor through my business. My 3 1/2 year-old daughter was Ethiopian born and is the youngest of 6 children. We opened up the link to the Lifesong Ziway/Adami Tulu Project and started looking at the children. My daughter, Anna Tihun Waggoner, pointed to a young girl and said, “Her!”. We looked at her name and to our surprise her name was Tihun. My wife and I looked at each other with tears in our eyes and said lets pick one more child. The next child she picked was a boy. We looked at his name … Continue reading

One Less Orphan… // Lifesong Ethiopia

We invite you to share a word of encouragement to our staff at Lifesong Ethiopia. To do so, please comment on the blog or on our Facebook wall and it will be forwarded to our staff. Thank you in advance for your kind words of support! Update from Lifesong Ethiopia… Meet Beza, 7th grade student at Lifesong Ethiopia who needs a sponsor. Tragically, when Beza was only a 5th grader, she was raped and became pregnant.  Because of Lifesong she was able to receive medical care and safely deliver her son. She currently lives with her mother and brother.  On less than $1 a day making injera, the Ethiopian bread staple, she [Alemeneshe, Beza’s mom] works to provide fresh milk for the baby. They keep the milk in a thermos because they are too poor to own a refrigerator.   Thankfully, Beza is now attending the Lifesong Ethiopia School and realizes that her future has … Continue reading

Help ONE child become ONE LESS statistic!

What would the world look like if each of us made it our responsibility to see one less orphan without an education…one less orphan without a growling hunger… or one less orphan without a bleak future of poverty?  In the next 45 days, our goal is to find a sponsor for every single child who has yet to be sponsored at our school in Lifesong Ethiopia. (Gulp! That’s a tall order! See below how YOU can help.) We are asking for an investment of just $19/month that will result in a future leader for the renewal of Africa from the inside out. Invest in a life of a child. Invest in self-sufficiency. Invest in bringing hope to one more orphan. Together we can get EVERY child sponsored! Will you help us? How can YOU help each child find a sponsor: PRAY: Join us in praying for the 587 children who are unsponsored in Ethiopia. Pray for the thousands … Continue reading

“This is what child sponsorship is all about.” // Lifesong Zambia

We invite you to share a word of encouragement to our staff at Lifesong Zambia. To do so, please comment on the blog or on our Facebook wall and it will be forwarded to our staff. Thank you in advance for your kind words of support! Please enjoy this update from Shane McBride, Lifesong Zambia Director… One of the many things I love about our kids here in Zambia is their pure hearts of love for the Father.  Our children KNOW their sponsors and can call them by name.  The power of a sponsor in a child’s life is usually not truly realized until the child actually meets their sponsor.  The children have a love for their sponsors. In the Zambian village, families are more than just aunties and uncles, families consist of a love bond.   This past month, Shadrick (Grade 4) received some terrible news that his sponsor’s husband was hurt really bad … Continue reading

Thankfully, because of the Lifesong staff, she enjoys Constant Christian Presence (CCP) offered and spends her time singing in the choir and making crafts. Her soft heart is open to the Gospel and discipleship/mentorship through our CCP Program.
