Make Christmas about GIVING!

Give: Commitment Christmas is such a special time of year, especially for kids. Each of us can think back to our own family traditions and the warm feelings they bring to our heart as we celebrate the birth of the our King Jesus. But in the midst of the warm feelings, we hear the loud cry of that is slowly creeping into Christmas: “Buy, buy, buy…more, more more”. What if, as a family, church, small group or workplace, we could respond in a way that shows our children and communities that Christmas is more about giving than getting? What if, this Christmas we gave belonging, commitment, love from a family and hope for a future to a child in need through monthly sponsorship to a child like Mayra?  Give the gift of sponsorship to Mayra today! Join Lifesong for Orphans in giving a Gift of Purpose. Until December 31st, your gift will be MATCHED … Continue reading

Reenacting the Way (of Jesus)

How can you follow Jesus when you don’t know what he was doing? Jesus’ most mysterious actions were making culturally relevant statements in his time. We can figure out what they meant and do the same today.  Reenacting the Way (of Jesus) answers each one of these questions and more. Author, speaker and professor Dr. Paul T Penley takes us beyond Jesus’ sayings and answers tough questions about his doings using brand new biblical and historical research. Readers will find that Jesus’ actions were making culturally relevant statements to his contemporaries. And we can do the same today. We are absolutely honored that Dr. Penley would chose to mention Lifesong for Orphans in his new book, Reenacting The Way (of Jesus). Listen in to his thoughts explaining his mention… Lifesong for Orphans is getting it right. The holistic care, revenue-generating projects, and support for orphans transitioning to adult life are just … Continue reading

Sarah’s Birthday of Purpose

Meet Sarah. Sarah just celebrated her 6th birthday last month. You would expect to see dolls, games, and maybe even a bike on her birthday list, right? Wrong. For the second year in a row, Sarah has asked that instead of gifts for her birthday, money be given to Lifesong for Orphans as we care for children around the world. Recently we recieved this note, along with a check to Lifesong from Sarah’s mom, Enclosed is $500 to help fund the adoption of an Ukrainian orphan into a Christian Ukrainian family through your Adoption without Borders program. Our daughter, Sarah, chose to collect donations for Lifesong in lieu of presents to celebrate her 6th birthday. God bless you and your efforts at Lifesong! Isn’t so refreshing to know that because of the selfless choice of ONE child, an orphan in Ukraine can become adopted into a forever family! Sarah, thank you … Continue reading

Thank you in advance for your kind words of support!  We are blessed to share this update from Lifesong Zambia from missionary Shane McBride, “Often times Independence Day is celebrated with fireworks, picnics, and apple pies. Well, here in Zambia on October 24th, we are using the holiday as a time of reflection. We are blessed beyond measure and our students know this.   So, how will we celebrate? Through service. Our students will be going into their community and serving the elderly and widows. It will be a week long activity of shoveling, mending roofs, cutting grass (not with a mower, but by hand with a slasher), fetching water from the wells, … Continue reading
